Honda HR-V: Transmission Housing Secondary Drive Gear Removal and Installation (CVT)
Special Tools Required
Driver Handle, 40 mm I.D. 07746-0030100
Bearing Driver Attachment, 30 mm I.D.

Snap Ring Pliers 07LGC-0010100
Removal
1. Secondary Drive Gear - Remove
- Remove the snap ring (A) using the snap ring pliers.
- Remove the cotter retainer (A) and the cotters (B).
- Remove the secondary drive gear (A) using a puller (B) and a
spacer (C).
Installation
NOTE: Apply a light coat of clean transmission fluid on all parts before
installation.
1. Secondary Drive Gear - Install
- Install the secondary drive gear (A) as shown using the 40 mm I.D.
driver
handle and the 30 mm I.D. bearing driver attachment.
- Install the cotters (A) and the cotter retainer (B).
- Install a new snap ring (A) using the snap ring pliers.
NOTE:
- Be careful not to deform the snap ring by opening/closing it
excessively.
- Make sure the snap ring is firmly installed in the groove.

1. Front Grille Cover - Remove
2. Air Cleaner - Remove
3. Harness Cover - Remove
Remove the bolts (A).
Disconnect the connector (B).
4. Shift Cable (Transmission Side) - Remove
Remove
Removal
NOTE:
Keep all foreign particles out of the transmission.
The valve body assembly and the following parts are not available
separately. Replace them as a set.

1. Problem verification:
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
Clear the DTC with the HDS.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then to the ON mode.
Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Disconnect the connector (A).NOTE:
To prevent damage, cover the connector using a shop towel.
Check the connector for corrosion, dirt, or oil, and clean or repair
