DTC TROUBLESHOOTING

DTC INDICATOR 2 : HVAC CONTROL UNIT INTERNAL ERROR

1. Problem verification:

  1. Clear the history DTCs.
  2. Do the Self-Diagnostic Function.
  3. Checking for DTCs.

Does the RECIRCULATION indicator blink twice?

YES

Replace the HVAC control unit.

NO

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

DTC INDICATOR 3 A PROBLEM IN THE RECIRCULATION CONTROL MOTOR CIRCUIT, LINKAGE, DOOR, OR MOTOR

1. Problem verification:

  1. Clear the history DTCs.
  2. Do the Self-Diagnostic Function.
  3. Checking for DTCs.

Does the RECIRCULATION indicator blink twice?

YES

Replace the HVAC control unit.

NO

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

DTC INDICATOR 3 A PROBLEM IN THE RECIRCULATION CONTROL MOTOR CIRCUIT, LINKAGE, DOOR, OR MOTOR

1. Problem verification:

  1. Clear the history DTCs.
  2. Do the Self-Diagnostic Function.
  3. Checking for DTCs.

Does the RECIRCULATION indicator blink three times?

YES

Go to step 2.

NO

Intermittent failure. Check for loose wires or poor connections on the recirculation control motor circuit.

2. Open wire check (F/R MTR(REC)/M-REC line):

  1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
