Honda HR-V: DTC B0010-12, B0011-12

Special Tools Required

  • SRS Inflator Simulator 07SAZ-TB4011A
  • SRS Simulator Lead J 070AZ-SNAA100

NOTE:

  • Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, find out if the vehicle was in a collision. If so, verify that all the required components were replaced with new components of the correct part number, and that they were properly installed.
  • Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review SRS Precautions and Procedures, General Troubleshooting Information, and 12 Volt Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection.
  • Before replacing the SRS unit, check the SRS unit software version with the HDS. If the software version is not the latest, update the SRS unit software, and retest.

Supplemental Restraint System - Diagnostics

DTC (SRS)

1. Problem verification:

  1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

  1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.
  2. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B0010-12 or B0011-12 indicated?

YES

The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.

NO

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.

2. Front passenger's airbag inflator check:

  1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
  2. Disconnect the negative cable from the 12 volt battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.
  3. Remove the glove box.
  4. Disconnect the front passenger's airbag inflator 4P connector (A) on the dashboard wire harness.

Supplemental Restraint System - Diagnostics

  1. Connect the terminals of SRS simulator lead J to the SRS inflator simulator (2 Ω connectors), then connect SRS simulator lead J to the front passenger's airbag inflator 4P connector on the dashboard wire harness.
  2. Reconnect the negative cable to the 12 volt battery.
  3. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

Clear DTCs

  1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.
  2. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B0010-12 or B0011-12 indicated?

YES

Go to step 3.

NO

Short to power in the front passenger's airbag first or second inflator; replace the front passenger's airbag, then clear the DTC.

3. Shorted wire check (RA1+, RA1-, RA2+, RA2- lines to power):

  1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
  2. Disconnect the negative cable from the 12 volt battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.
  3. Disconnect the following connector.

SRS unit connector A (39P)

  1. Disconnect the SRS inflator simulator from SRS simulator lead J. Do not disconnect SRS simulator lead J from the front passenger's airbag inflator 4P connector on the dashboard wire harness.
  2. Reconnect the negative cable to the 12 volt battery.
  3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
  4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

Is there 0.2 V or less?

YES

The RA1+, RA1-, RA2+, and RA2- wires are OK. Faulty SRS unit or poor connection at SRS unit connector A (39P) and the SRS unit. Check the connection; if the connection is OK, replace the SRS unit. If the DTC does not clear, replace the dashboard wire harness.

NO

Short to power in the dashboard wire harness; replace the dashboard wire harness, then clear the DTC.
