Honda HR-V: Fuel Fill Door Adjustment

Adjustment

1. Fuel Fill Door - Adjust

Exterior Trim - Testing & Troubleshooting

  1. Slightly loosen the hinge mounting bolts (A)
  2. Adjust the fuel fill door (B) in or out until it is flush with the body, and up or down as necessary to equalize the gaps
  3. Tighten the hinge mounting bolts
  4. Make sure the fuel fill door opens properly and locks securely, and check that the rear of the door is flush with the body.

Exterior Trim - Testing & Troubleshooting

  1. Apply multipurpose grease to each location indicated by the arrows
  2. Apply touch-up paint to the hinge mounting bolts and around the hinge.

HOOD ADJUSTMENT

Adjustment

1. Cowl Cover - Remove

2. Front Grille Cover - Remove

3. Front Grille Center Stay - Remove

4. Hood - Adjust

  1. Slightly loosen the hood hinge mounting bolts (A) and the hood latch mounting bolts (B).

  1. Adjust the hood (C) alignment in the following sequence:
    • Adjust the hood right and left, as well as forward and rearward, by using the elongated holes in the hood hinges (D).
    • Turn the hood edge cushions (E), in or out as necessary, to make the hood fit flush with the body at the front and side edges.
  2. Adjust the hood latch (F) to obtain the proper height at the forward edge, and move the latch right or left until the striker (G) is centered in the latch
  3. Tighten each bolt to the specified torque
  4. Check that the hood opens properly and closes securely
  5. Apply touch-up paint to the hinge mounting bolts and around the hinges, and let the paint dry.

  1. Apply multipurpose grease to the hood latch and the hood hinges as indicated by the arrows.

5. All Removed Parts - Install

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
