Honda HR-V: DTC B0021-11
NOTE:
- Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, find out if the vehicle was
in a collision. If so, verify
that all the required components were replaced with new components of the
correct part number,
and that they were properly installed.
- Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review SRS Precautions and
Procedures, General
Troubleshooting Information, and 12 Volt Battery Terminal Disconnection and
Reconnection.
- Before replacing the SRS unit, check the SRS unit software version with
the HDS. If the software version
is not the latest, update the SRS unit software, and retest.

DTC (SRS)
1. Problem verification:
- Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

- Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B0021-11 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting
Intermittent Failures. If
another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.
2. Shorted wire check (LCA+, LCA- lines) 1:
- Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- Disconnect the negative cable from the 12 volt battery, then wait at
least 3 minutes.
- Disconnect the following connector.
SRS unit connector B (39P)
- Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

Is there an open circuit?
YES
The LCA+ and LCA- wires are OK. Replace the SRS unit.
NO
Go to step 3.
3. Shorted wire check (LCA+, LCA- lines) 2:
- Remove the headliner.
- Disconnect the following connector.
Left side curtain airbag inflator 2P connector (on the floor wire harness)
- Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

Is there an open circuit?
YES
The LCA+ and LCA- wires are OK. Faulty left side curtain airbag inflator;
replace the left side curtain
airbag, then clear the DTC.
NO
Short to ground in the floor wire harness; replace the floor wire harness,
then clear the DTC.

Check the vehicle 12 volt battery condition first.
Set the fader and the balance positions to the center.
Use auxiliary stereo cables with 3.5 mm ends only.
Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
1. Problem verification 1:
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode
2. Disconnect the automatic dimming inside mirror 7P connector.
3. Check for continuity between terminal No. 6 and body ground.
If there is continuity, go to step 4.
If there is no continuity, check for:
An open or high resistance in the ground wire.
