HVAC UNIT DISASSEMBLY AND REASSEMBLY

NOTE:

  • If the packings are damaged or torn, replace it with a new one.
  • For these operations, refer to the complete procedure as needed.
    • Air mix control motor removal and installation
    • Blower motor removal and installation
    • Blower power transistor removal and installation
    • Blower resistor removal and installation
    • Blower unit removal and installation
    • Dust and pollen filter removal and installation
    • Evaporator core removal and installation
    • Evaporator temperature sensor removal, installation, and test
    • Expansion valve removal and installation
    • Heater unit/core removal and installation
    • Mode control motor removal and installation
    • Driver's air mix control motor removal and installation
    • Passenger's air mix control motor removal and installation

1. Heater Control Panel - Exploded View

Disassembly and Reassembly

1. HVAC Control Unit, Air Mix Control Cable and Mode Control Cable - Remove

HVAC System - Testing & Troubleshooting

  1. Remove the lid (A) and the HVAC control unit (B) from the heater control panel (C)
  2. Using a snap ring pliers, widen the cable stops (D) in the cable holder (E), then pull out the control cables (F).

2. Heater Control Base, Bulbs and Heater Fan Switch - Remove

  1. Remove the heater control base (A) from the heater control panel (B)
  2. Remove the harness (C), then remove the bulbs
  3. Remove the knob (D)
  4. Remove the heater fan switch (E).

3. All Removed Parts - Install

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

    NOTE: After assembly, check that the lever slides or the dial turns smoothly through the full stroke from right to left.
